Château de Touffou
Proudly overlooking the Vienne Valley, Touffou is a strange yet noble, and enchanting site. The chateau was mentioned as early as 1127. The two 12th century dungeons were joined in the 15th century, adding to a rampart walkway and the defensive wall slits, which perfected the chateau’s defences.
To visit: the Francis I tower and its frescoes, the chapel tower (chapel and dungeon) and the Hôtellerie tower (once the bake house and kitchens). Unaccompanied visits of the gardens and stables.
Château Touffou is 82 minutes (84 km) from Puy-Leonard.
