An example of man’s inhumanity to man. On the 10th of June 1944 the 2nd Waffen SS panzer division came into town, killed all but a few villagers and razed the village to the ground.
The complete village has been left exactly as it was on that day and a new village was built alongside. There is a museum on site and you can walk around the ruins, a very emotive place indeed.
