Aulnay
About 40 kilometers from Cognac, the village of Aulnay has a charming Old World atmosphere.
Like Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, the town was a stop on the “Way of Saint James” medieval pilgrimage road to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
The focal point of Aulnay is the 12th-century Eglise Saint-Pierre. This magnificent Romanesque church has an impressive tower and steeple, a richly sculptured facade, and fine capitals.
Aulnay is 67 minutes (71 km) from Puy-Leonard.
